Are Meika

This two-bedroomed furnished house is a semi-rural property just a short walk from the beach at Muri, in the south-east corner of Rarotonga.

Although many visitors seek beachside accommodation, they sometimes don't realise that the beach is also very close to the traffic which runs along the main road encircling the island. If you want the authentic experience of living on Rarotonga with peace and quiet and total relaxation then this is the place for you. Are Meika (Banana House) is situated with only two other neighbors in a quiet, unsealed road ending in a cul-de-sac in the area of Aremango, Ngatangiia.

The house is five minutes walk from the main road where round-the-island buses stop. Are Meika is set on a quarter-acre among banana trees. It is of concrete brick construction (cool in the hot weather) and has a verandah facing north to protect against the afternoon sun.
